Chicago Harbor Lighthouse and Southeast Guidewall Light


Built:  1893 & 1938, respectively

Viewing:   From I-90/I-94 west of Chicago's downtown area, take exit 50B and go east on the freeway spur into downtown Chicago.  At approximately 0.8 miles, the freeway ends on Ohio St. which is one-way east.  Follow Ohio approximately 0.8 miles to Fairbanks.  Turn right on Fairbanks (which becomes Columbus Dr.) and to 2 blocks to Illinois St.  Turn left on Illinois and go about 4 blocks to Navy Pier Park.  Follow the park's loop road around to the right to the public parking area.  You can walk onto Navy Pier and view both the Harbor light off the end of the pier to the southeast and the Southeast Guidewall light, to the south.
